OWC Aura 6G 1TB SSD for Macbook Pro 2012

Overview

Add 1TB of SSD storage to your 2012 or 2013 MacBook Pro with Retina display with the 1TB Aura 6G mSATA SSD and Envoy Pro Storage Solution from OWC / Other World Computing. The drive is compatible with 13" and 15" MacBook Pros released in January 2013 (MacBookPro10,1) or June 2012 (MacBookPro10,2). After you have replaced the current drive, you can easily transfer the contents on this drive to the Aura 6G using the included Envoy Pro enclosure.

The Aura 6G connects to your MacBook Pro using an mSATA connection and features no moving parts, helping to protect it from accidental bumps and drops, as well as achieve faster data transfer speeds. In terms of speed, the drive sports a Silicon Motion SM2246EN controller that delivers sustained reads of up to 560 MB/s, sustained writes of up to 460 MB/s, random 4K reads of up to 74,000 IOPS, and random 4K writes of up to 73,000 IOPS.

OWC has equipped the Aura 6G with Intelligent Block Management and Wear Leveling technology that automatically distributes data evenly across the entire SSD to increase its lifespan. To enhance data integrity, it utilizes StaticDataRefresh technology for managing free space and gradually refreshing data across the SSD. Furthermore, AES 256-bit support protects your data.

The included Envoy Pro is an enclosure for your old drive so you can quickly transfer the operating system, programs, and files to the Aura 6G. Once you have transferred the data, you can use the factory drive for extra storage or backups. The Envoy Pro connects to your MacBook Pro via a USB 3.0 port and is bus powered. Additionally, OWC includes a carrying case that protects the enclosure from scratches.
